You are very welcome!darkline wrote:coilbook wrote:Try to set backup intervals to 0. Seems like this glitch happens every 15th frame. Maybe it will fix it. I have the same problem with wetmaps when octane will render wetmaps to whatever backup interval is set to freezing the renderer. Hopefully otoy will fix these 2 bugs.darkline wrote:still producing render glitches with phoenix (Max 2014) demo version of Phoenix FD 3.03
Here is my bug post with wetmaps viewtopic.php?f=81&t=64967
Coilbook, I love you.Ive literally spent the whole day, simulating, rendering, re-simulating, rendering, installing different versions of octane, upgrading GPU drivers, installing security updates to let even newer versions of octane install, and installing different versions of Phoenix - none of it helped and it all came down to this little bug! Thank you!!!
I can now actually get on with using this properly tomorrow
Really helpful!
Also please fix this devs!

Im getting all sorts of problems now. Ive made a few changes such as installing latest octance needed lates nvidia drivers, plus the windows security update and I'm getting very unstable performace :
"Render failure in viewport rendering : Gpu Failure. check log for error detail"
I'm getting images when it does open like the attached below.
Also when it does work Im getting no volume now for my phoenix smoke.
Can you recommend a combination of gpu drivers and octane version that will render smoke stably please?

and what's the last stable version of octane I can use to render pheonix 3.1 smoke? I'm finding octane 3.08 slower than 3.07 for rendering. I was using 3.06-4.41 and this was rendering smoke faster (although that was from an older phoenix version too)

that unfortunately didnt work Paride,
I have restored now from a backup i made last week.
Phoenix 3.1 doesnt show volumes with my current octane version (3.06 -4.41) - what's the next version up I can install where it will work? Don't want to go to the latest version because I've done it twice now and something is causing my computer to go wonky (either the Nvidia drivers, octane version or the windows security update)
thanks for any help

Hi Darkline,
you are going through exactly what I went through
The most recent Phoenix is 3.04.02 (from chaos nightlies) that worked with 3.06 4.41 for me. Hopefully it will help you

@darkline,
why are you posting 3.08 5.02 RC2 issue in 3.08 stable?
That issue was fixed (black render region)
install 3.08 stable please.
