 Wow, not to be an ignoramus, but let me put on my ignoramus hat and be an be an ignoramus....
For once...

Messing around with Blender...
Holy F%$&ing S#!+.....
The WORST, most counter intuitive, inhumane control schematic ever devised.
You know, I've tested a few apps here and there...I've been around the block, you know...
Like, they know me at the plaza....my name is on the wall in the bathroom and all...

But holy camoly, the controls are awful...
...AWFUL

And you know who has the best controls?....Who, you ask?
Octane Render Standalone, that's who. Fine controls, such a pleasure...You can do everything so easily and smoothly....works so well...
And I mean, Houdini, C4D, and Daz are so easy to nav, with simple intuitive controls, too.
Then, 3DS Max, Sketchup, and Lightwave try to be all fancy, and okay, sometimes they just let their own clutter get in their way, but all in all, they are tolerable....

But Blender....my goodness...I want to jump in a blender trying to use it...
Horrible...HORRIBLE.

It's like, why copy that or use a scheme that works, right? RIGHT!!!??
"Let's be different just for the mere sake of being different! Yeyyyyyyyy!!!!"

How about "Noooooooooooo.....No!.....No!...."
"NNNNNNNOOO....Bad app!...Down!...Down!...Bad app!......nnnnNo....nnnnNoooo...."

And don't try to be a fanboy and defend it. Let's give credit where credit is due.
Blender gets credit for the absolute, most abominable, most horrid and wretched 3D controls of all time. :x

Yo - great minds think alike. I am a Blender-hater of the highest order. My deep, profound loathing for that horrific piece of shit teeters on the edge of madness when I use it. Sadly, grudgingly, use it I must, as a middleman to get crap from LW into three.js... Maybe some day, if I get the time, I might try and see if I can take the python for three.js json exporter and ham-fist it into a LW > three export script... That is how much I hate Blunder... to go to those lengths to not need to use it... Did I mention I hate the fuggin' thing?

And please bro, don't lump LightWave in with those others... LW's text-based interface makes it hands-down one the best out there. Have you used LW since you snagged it during that sale last year? It has zero clutter...

We have an internal build with glTF exporting of a geometry node for web playback including there.js. We can currently read glTF 1.0 models with bones and skinned animation in 3.07.

Oh.. Hi G.. Are you are saying a gfTL exporter is coming our way, or are you just keeping that to yourselves? I've not tried gfTL and will need to check it out I guess. The three.js json exporter for Blender does have a lot of options, including Precision, which is really nice for trimming the fat of meshes, and I kinda need that... Please add Precision options to your exporter, if you do indeed make one...

OTOY's twitter is a very frustrating follow. Everything is about all the money and research they've put into VR. That's great and all, VR is very cool and I look forward to using it in the future.

But I feel like an idiot here waiting for stuff in Octane.

Is it too much to ask to be able to make something in substance painter and have a straightforward map input? Every other serious render engine has had it forever. I've asked for this for months and months and months. And it's always 'oh it'll come soon with OSL'. But OSL never comes. Just unity integration and Facebook VR cameras and other VR crap.

At least we finally got adaptive sampling.

Maybe a day will come that every last man, woman, child, cat and dog in the US will be fully aware of the fact that Time Warner Cable is now Spectrum... and they can finally stop telling us over, and over, and over, every third commercial... And why are actual Spectrum customers like me and wifey needing to see these retarded spots more than a couple hundred times?... Yeah, we finally were able to grasp this in our feeble minds after 40 or 50 viewings, jackasses! Sorry Notiusweb, I needed a place to put that. All yours again. ;)

It's all coming. Anway I'm the one posting on twitter usually, so let me know how we could do better. The forums are all about Octane. VR cameras are important for Octane. FB is backing Octane which is great and helps.

glTF I/o will be a built in feature for everyone.
