i dont have a camera, just phone / ipad and it looks shit :P really. I did not much care for this (looks) - not much of a modder (through i like my cables in proper places mind me xD). It must work as intended and this is where it ends, a dull black box full of sadness :P ; non of the smicha glory ^^. And i intend to make another sad black box out of my xigmatek elysium, a house for my old 3 580 3gb from evga :P. Blocks are black, backplates are black, radiators and fans are black. Case is black. Mobo is black and blue, tubing and liquid is clear and the brackets are chrome. 99% stuff from EK.

Plz guide
Best GPU lane configuration for Octane render, is there any difference in 16x lane and 8x lane.
what is the difference in perfomance while rendering.

Rendering speed - no difference. Uploading geometry - there is (if you are not doing tons of animations it does not matter that much). For a multi gpu setup there are few motherboards that can handle 4 gpus in x16 setup.

Do you already have a motherboard or are you looking for a good mobo?

PLX chip gives You more lane to GPUs. Basicaly Your CPU on Z87 gives You 2O lanes, PLX chip gives a bit more..so in theory..You should have a possibility to comunicate with GPUs faster (have less of a bottleneck).

You have a very good motherboard - four x8 PCIe slots is mroe than enough for quad setup.

if You get crazy enough You can house even dual GPU cards inside, though You would not avoid watercooling if You would like to place them directly to Your motherboard (wrote 'bout Zs a bit here) in this case unless..You would choose ribon cables and go open air =) but that's not entire the theme of this thread..

You have a nice card & keep it - no need to spend tons of money for new motherboard 'cos You're not going to see any benefit..unless You're looking to utilise NVMe drives, ffaster CPUs & other featrues that are not reachable with Your platform..

As glimpse said - your motherboard is very good. With a good case that can handle e.g., 2x480 rads you are ready to watercool 4 gpus with great results.
