Ok so I tried placing the cards in different slots and basically what I expected to happen, happened. Each card is functioning just fine and up to 2 cards everything is great, its just when I have a third card that it gets weird. Even when I have all 3 cards in, I can manually turn each card on by itself using nvidia control panel and each one will run in octane perfectly fine. It's simply that they wont all work at the same time. I did have something else change however, when I have the cards in the top three slots (keep in mind they cover some because of the double width), the top and middle card are the default. When I moved the bottom card down a slot, the top and bottom card became the default. I'm not sure what that means, but it did change something up. I re-ran all of the power cables and hooked up the 4-pin EZ Plug for an extra 12v of power to the mobo but it didn't help either.

It seems something is wrong with PCIE lanes. Do you have a chance to test your gpus on another motherboard?

Smicha,
You mean the 8-pin CPU power conector on the motherboard, not the actual CPU socket, correct?

I meant a socket itself, something like this

but sure, checking all cables is a must.

If I were in abstractmedia shoes I would: 1. check a socket and cpu, 2. test another motherboard, 3. test another psu

@ OP

Can you check what happens when playing a game? I use MSI afterburner to check temps and usage of the gpus.

Ya I've tested these GPU's on other boards and they're just fine. They work just fine on my board too just not at the same time, so it seems like something may be wrong with the PCIE lanes like you mentioned. I tried different gpu's in this set up on my machine as well and got the same outcome.

So it's time to RMA your motherboard.

ok, maybe You done that already, but just mention incase for any reason You haven't..- restore everything to defaults in bios/uefi - maybe (just maybe) some allocation of PCIe lanes were changed..(I know some models have a feature to "switch lanes" between PCIe slots..-as it's more wired than available..). as last resort update uefi..

if that doesn't help, I guess this is the best advice..
