Something strange is happening with Alpha channel.
Text with Blackbody Emission illuminates objects in the background, and the alpha it sees almost transparent.

There seems to be nothing wrong with that alpha.
The material you're using in the text appears to have transparency.

Dean, save and check it on other program. This is not a plugin issue or not any issue

since updating nvidia drivers to 3.44 because new Octane needs
Cuda 6.5 AfterEffects is crashing all the time when I try to render something.
Anyone else having now this issue with AfterEffects?

Unfortunately, anything 34x.xx has some pretty major issues with C4D and a few other programs, I haven't noticed with AE though (yet...)

when I remember right, I got some strange problems with some programs (not special AE)
and that was the reason I switched back to ..33xx drivers months ago.

"shadow visibilty" of the objectTag does not works as expected.

Tag is working. But Octane is not doing anything with hdri. It never was as you expected. My advice to check on standalone first this kind of issues. We have a "edit in standalone" command for this. Also a little bit interest the standalone topics would be great.

People should understand this i cannot interfere to render calculations and octane's internal features. Only i can report it, but you can be more effective if you write in standalone topics.
