I have been playing around with the proxy objects, wow what a game changer for archicad users!!!

One annoying thing i have found is when you copy or alt click an archicad "placer" object it loses the octane proxy information, is there a way to code the proxy file name into an archicad object so that it always refers to that object ie have a specific field in the objects gdl code that you can use to pull thru the proxy file location?, I want to have number of placholder objects already set up with their proxy objects sitting on my template then just alt click and place the desired objects within the scene.

This would be a great enhancement to the plug-in

I have attached a very simple archicad placeholder object for you try out.

I would absolutely love to implement proxy's this way. There were some limitations in the ArchiCAD API which made attaching the obj file to the object tricky - so I left it out of the initial implementation, but I am sure it is possible with some more work. I will revisit this in the next week.

[EDIT: Additionally, the rotation of the ArchiCAD object could be added to the rotation of the OBJ proxy, which would be a further time-saver.]

Paul,

Yes the scale and rotation could be added and we could code for some randomness with plants etc

It opens up a whole new world that we havnt had with archicad like i said earlier a real game changer

Keep up the work. Hopefully you can implement this feature

Paul,

I am having trouble saving rendertargets to views, can you please give a detailed workflow to achieve having different rendertargets for each view.

I manage to save 1 new rendertarget but cannot replicate this for the other views i have, the "save rendertarget to view" is grayed out, I can delete it but it still shows in the photorender dropdown

Am i missing something simple ?

I am in the process of updating the manual, and figured it would be easiest to explain the workflow in the manual! Pls see http://render.otoy.com/manuals/ArchiCAD/?page_id=245. Let me know if anything is unclear, or any errors. I am in the process of updating the rest of the manual, but that will happen over the next week or so.

I'm not getting this error. Can you pls provide the exact steps you are using so I can reproduce it?

Was that with 1.16a4?

Thanks

Paul

Thanks. I watched the video, but your expertise and speed in ArchiCAD is too fast for me :-) Could I trouble you to send me the pln file containing the scene element which caused that error pls?

Thanks

Sorry, my students tell me all the time!!! The only thing you can need to do its a section and select some "morph" in the section view (not in plan or 3d view in this views it work well)
