any chance to get some tip about your skin shader ?
Hi xtrm3d, I never had the chance to tell you that your mini-Iron Man is fantastic! And I love your Kaneda too! 8-)
The skin shader is a variation of the one made by icelaglace, I think he said he was gonna post it on the Live DB ;)
It is posted on the LiveDB! :P

Although technical perfect I miss some life in the face of the boy.
I can't really nail it down to a certain point but the view looks empty and emotioal clean.

Maybe it is the skin or the eyes or the smooth signature without winkles of the boys face.

I know what you mean, and I agree. My previous render of him was more "alive", while this one is a bit cold.
Perhaps is because this time he's not looking directly into the camera?
Anyway, thank you for the comment! ;)

Yes it is interesting topic. We can reproduce characters 100% real but don't manage to catch small nouances so our brain takes them for "real".
One guy from Pixar Studios wrote an article about this topic some time ago. They don't use 100% real characters in their films because during test visions with audiences it turned out better.

But really great work. Pleas don't misunderstand. :)

Well deserved, and making a very nice showcase of Octane while you're at it!

Fiero di essere italiano.
I migliori lavori su Octane fatti da un italiano.
Complimenti, te li meriti tutti.
Ma il Giappone che c'entra?
