Support of instances when is planned? Thank you
It is not depend on me.;)
When the new Octane engine (with instances support) will be stable enough - I think I will get it from Otoy. But so far I don't have it. I even don't have the version with falloff support - if I had it, it is only 30-40 minutes of my work needed to add falloff node to the new plugin version...
So, these questions should be asked to the engine developers, not to plugin developer...

But, so far there are some other useful things that I can add to this plugin... So, I will not be sitting without the work, and we will not get bored while waiting for the new engine from Otoy...;)

I've attached some maya .dmp files from a scene that crashes often only when it has octane materials.

It happens when I try to load the scene or randomly when I select geo with octane materials.
If I use a different renderer the scene is stable.

It only happens after re-loading the scene file and not during its creation.
The scene only consists of a plane and a polygon tree obj file thats imported.

Can you please post the ".log" files too?..
And if it is possible - the scene will be very usable to catch these crashes... As they are happen not in Octane module, and only dump files in this case are not so helpful...

I've fixed this problem, thank you for the pretty good bugreports!
Will release new version with all these fixes after finishing "display textures in the viewport" support.;)

Hello,

You can verify the refresh of material/icon in the hypershade ? In some cases disappear the material sphere/preview.
You work on the best icon in the shelf menu?
Many Thanks !

It is made such way intentionally. The material swatches do not refresh during the Octane render process is active to not bother the GPU rendering process. If you change something in the material nodes during the render - the swatch will disappear, and all these "dirty" swatches will be refreshed automatically after the render will be finished.
I think later I will make the special swatch image for "dirty" state indication...

In the first release (of OctaneRender For Maya) there was a difference in the renderd-images between the standalone and the OctaneRender for Maya version. Is this problem solved? And what do people think of the OctaneRender for Maya version? Is it worth it? Can I animate sliders, of example lights?
Hope someone can give me a answer :), thnx

I think that this problem never existed in OctaneRender For Maya.;) As when I asked the man who said it to give me these standalone and Maya scene files to I can find the difference and fix it - he said "yes, I will send it when I will get home", and then he disappeared.:)
I think he just has found that he has set the wrong scale in Octane for Maya settings - and as you all know, the physical size of objects in physical correct Octane has the big impact on the final render image. So, I think it was rather wrong scale issue, not Octane for Maya issue... As nobody has written the same anymore...

I hope someone will give me the scenes if I'm wrong and the problem really exists...
