Maybe a problem with the spaces in the project path/name?
Try it with a project path without spaces in the name.
I will fix that...

Ah, the obvious solution... I'll do thata) Nomality XSI should choose the right dll, but you can browse to the addon folder and delete the octane_x64.dll. That should help.

It's a plain old polymesh grid (not hidden), with the geometry set to 1x1 instead of the default 8x8. The other objects (rendering fine) were imported obj files. I have two scene materials- Scene_Material and Refl (a basic reflective material for, and applied to, the ground) When exported to Octane however, I wind up with scene_material and scene_material1.b) Is the grid visible and a polymesh? Nurbs don´t work with Octane. The obj should export every time you hit the render button. To test it, read the timestamp of the obj.
That's a bit confusingly written, but I think I know what you mean. Still, Octane can't be made to shut the currently open scene and load the one being referenced by XSI? If not, (to confirm) Octane needs to be shut and re-launched for scene changes, yes?...you set the materials and other things, which you don´t want to export, and save the scene.
I got it to work, thanks Face. The no spaces thing was making me crash until I read this thread. I feel like I'm back in 1998(just messing around with you).
If this plugin developed into something that could give me a robust connection between XSI and Octane, I'd pay money for it.
I've noticed that objects inside of Models don't get exported.

Octane don´t like it, when you change the material in XSI. Octane load the scenefile you have created the first time you press the render button for the new project. It's a plain old polymesh grid (not hidden), with the geometry set to 1x1 instead of the default 8x8. The other objects (rendering fine) were imported obj files. In the scenefile from Octane, the materials are written. Changed materials in XSI will not change the materials in the Octane scenefile. So you will ever load the materials, which you has assign in Octane.
A workflow is:
Press the render button, change the materials in Octane and save the Octane scene. After set, Octan use that scenefile with that changed material when you press the render button again.
Yes, youre right. My english isn´t so goodThat's a bit confusingly written, but I think I know what you mean. Still, Octane can't be made to shut the currently open scene and load the one being referenced by XSI? If not, (to confirm) Octane needs to be shut and re-launched for scene changes, yes?

The best thing is, your scene is complete and then render it with octane.
When you change the materials or add objects in XSI, which becomes also a material, it would be best, before you render it, create a new project and render then.
Then you can be sure, that all materials has been taken from Octane .

You now can use spaces. Load the update from the second post in this thread.adrencg wrote:I got it to work, thanks Face. The no spaces thing was making me crash until I read this thread. I feel like I'm back in 1998(just messing around with you).

Or you can wait till the modelbug is corrected...

EDIT: Actually, maybe I am still confusedI hit Render Frame (for the same scene) after assigning it to create a new project (from Project Configuration), and Octane still hasn't recognised the material or object correctly.
EDIT 2: Argh, solved the problem. Please ignore the above.

When i put a mesh into a model, i become a error, but it works...
Can you show me a screen from you explorer with expanded model, so i can see what inside is?
