It has separate licences.

Could this be the issue then?

ok, now I offically have no Idea what the heck is going on. The max plugin reactivated when I rebooted max (with out my input) and still doesn't work (could it actually be possible that it is running off of my octane license?). Could this be an issue with my account instead of anything else?

Hey, if I messed up somewhere, no prob but just fixed up so I can enjoy the awesomeness of having octane running inside of 3ds max. Is there a way we can start this from scratch (or is that ill-advised?)

Hm
Close 3dsmax and Octane Standalone (if it is open)
Go to you refractive software website \ Customer Area\ OctaneLive Accounts. Diactivate both - octane stand alone and plugins.
Delete all temporary folders {...}
Just in case, download last plugin version again (may be it was damaged) and install it.
Start 3dsmax and activate plugin (it should ask to activate standalone within its standart LiveAccount window too).

'am too glad it worked - even if i personally couldn't be of any help; as you could see from my post i was just beating a dead horse ;) applause to karba as his first thought already was the best one - must have something to do with the fact, that he developed the plugin :lol:

ps: i meanwhile found out, that you have once already encountered a strange "exploration depth bug" - seems you have quite a touch for such things :D
