Hi Paul ...

I have not done any rendering for a few weeks and now I am up against a deadline and Octane is not downloading any materials from the live data base ... it simply crashes Rhino.

All the materials in my usual template drawing have reverted to 'basic' materials; mostly no material other than black.

I'm a little stunned. What can I do?

Eric - what release of the plugin are you using pls?

EDIT: If you are using the 2.22.0.34 version - go back to the 2.21.1.33 release.

But I went from ver 31 to 34 and skipped 33 ... so I don't have it in my download folder.

I tried to install 31 and then got an error message saying that the db failed.

Sorry for the issue you are having. If you can post the error message, that will help a lot. Do you get that error importing any material from the LiveDb, or just certain materials?

Hi Paul

The error message is 'Error opening Live db form' ... I simply tried to get into Octane Materials in the box offering multiple choices like Octane or Otoy or others.

It does appear that the 'stable' version 2.16 is working ... so I can use that to do my current project.

I have refreshed the installers at the top of this thread with:

2.22.2.35
- Compiled with Octane 2.22.2. Refer to Octane 2.22.2 Standalone release notes for details.
- Pin changes to the Thin Lens and Panoramic camera stereo settings
- Added option for the proxy Replicate function to copy the block instance transforms to the proxy scale and rotation. This has not yet been well tested, so there may be issues found. I think Rhino is potentially applying the scale after the rotation in when supplying the block instance transform, whereas Octane needs the scale before the rotation.
