yes, this is right. Colors are squeezing to 8bit.
Outch. (When) will that be changed?

Hi aoktar thanks for your answer...
but I think you misunderstood.
I was not searching for a confirmation but for an answer if it may be possible to get an Option to save untonemapped images through C4D save dialog. (A tickbox e.g.) That would avoid the problem of squeezing pictures to 8 bit!
I think this is quite essential to have the option to save pictures with linear response curve and no tonemapping!

Another Question:
Are you still working on the sub-frame motion blur?
Would be nice see it implemented! Now that Octane is supporting live updates on geometries it might work more easily ?

Or at least the camera motion blur we had in the C4D exporter plugin!

Would much appreciate an honest answer ;-)

Thanks for your great work and keep it up!

Cheers,
Raphael

Hi Silverwing,
i added a option to Octane render setting for float output. Thanks for warning. I'm waiting to publish until new sdk.

Subframe motion blur is not soo easy, but in my list. I'm searching some methods.
New Octane Sdks may come with camera mblur, so we are waiting this feature.
"live updates on geometries" can be changed or improved on next releases. I'm thinking to do better handling methods.

hi aoktar...
a question:
is the focus tied to the target when using a target tag on a camera? it seems so to me.
i just suggest it would be better to still be able to have that separated, and use the
values/options in the camera object (focus distance, use target object or focus object)
just a suggestion :) thanks for all the work !
...
edit:
ok i was on autofocus .)
but still... i use an xpresso to tie the cameras focus distance to the tags focal depth now.
this could be integrated standard wise, not?

Hi Ahmet,

is there a workaround to render render instances in render instances, second level? Right now they won't show up in renderings. E.g. I have some trees and do some render instances of them wich are part of a bigger set, and this set is spread via cloner as render instances. This way I can save more geometrie, e.g. to do another set of render instances wich are directly cloned as a forest, also as render instances.

indexofrefraction: if you want manual focusing, there is two way. if tag focus distance is zero, plugin uses camera focal depth. if not then takes distance from cameratag focal distance value. thanks for comments.
dinf: that's right. it's not supporting second level render instances due complexity. maybe a update can be there in future.thanks

Hi Ahmet
i just two more questions -
1. the manual focus you explainded here - i can not get it to work
because sometimes i think it is helpful to take the old DOF from c4d where you can see from above view with the green camera helplines where the dof start and ends.
but i can not get this to work - what did you mean with "if tag focus distance is zero, plugin uses camera focal depth."
Where is the tag focus distance - you can set on zero?

and the FOV - did not work here be me - is it WIP?

cheers

this feature not depends to sdk, but we have a uncompleted support. Put a standart material with png/tif/tga image to background/foreground object and start live viewer
