As i could not test it with 2.42, I would like to ask the 2.42 user to verify a problem with inverting
spec map textures and normal maps.
Using normal maps and inverting on levels abpve 0.5 the mesh turns nearly black.
Using spec maps see pictures. This change on levels among 0.1 but you don`t have a spec effect than.

normalmaps are currently not invertible in Octane (the invert button just flips color, but you can't invert normalmpas like that). For the specular texture try to tweak power & gamma until it looks right.

THX for clarification, it was a error in reasoning by me.
If I invert the spec in gimp I got the same results and a inverted normal map results in rubbish.

I tried the mac version. In first round all the gui works, but after i click to scene node wait a few second and crashing. I use the chess scene.

I was run the Cuda toolkit 3.0 installer -over version 3.2- then start octane. Not crashed.

Linux users have to install also the toolkit, while Windows users apparently get all the needed files with the drivers.
