I'm in the unfortunate situation where my location has rubbish internet so I can't rely on anything that requires constant connection. Please, please, please fix this and communicate with an actual deadline / fix date for this please.

Absolutely unacceptable. Either put it on the main page, "MUST BE CONNECTED TO INTERNET TO USE," or re-enable offline mode.
