Just an FYI--I think you know about this already, but I just installed 2.48b on a box w/2x 590-gtx (4 CUDA devices) and I can't add any of them to the active list...

Sorry Marcus
Just returned to this thread after most of the day doing work.I seemed to have stirred up a bit of a hornets nest with the camera suggestion.
I'll try and stick to bug tests for this thread.Maybe start a new thread if i have any more crazy ideas.

Well, you were making a valid point. I think it's a matter of preference. For me some degree of trickery in a 'light simulator' in general helps overcome its limitations workflow wise, and that is what i want since I'm not using it to mimic reality completely. That's why it doesn't bug me how things are now. But then... having a choice is always even better;] And Octane's speed guarantees that either way it goes in the future it won't be much of a problem, since you can immediately see what you'll get.Jaberwocky wrote:Sorry Marcus

Hi Octaners,
After being busy for the past 7 months or so, i finally got the time to play with Octane. This is my first ever interior rendering so i'm no expert on the subject but i went for something that is very very hard to achieve, MORNING SHOT. The models are from Evermotion and i plan to populate this scene with a lot more objects, this was just a test. I'll post a finished hi-res render in the Gallery when i'm done but for now i wish you all a GOOD MORNING
This is with the portals, PMC kernel and a touch of hotpixel removal
This is post-processing in NukeX
I'm very happy with the results, no bugs to report for now.... i'll get back to finishing my Merc CLS 600 and this Interior
All the best,
Voja
P.S. Sorry for my english, it's far from perfect

Weird... Thanks for the reportkubo wrote:there is a small bug that I don't know if it's been reported, at "night" using the daylight system there is "negative" light throwing shadows, quite amusing.

I tried yesterday 2.48b finally and it seems PMC is slower than on 2.47. I tried to render the very same interior picture, i rendered on 2.47 before, i just changed the material for carpet from Diffuse to Glossy (so its possible this was the reason for the slowdown). On 2.47 it took 30 min to get cca 3200 samples (and the sample rate was 4,55 Ms per second). On 2.48 it managed only 2100 samples in the same timeframe with a sample rate of 2,88 Msps.
On the positive side, the mesh relink button works fine as already reported by ROUBAL.
