I think that's an issue for standalone team. Sounds like an engine issue, not a plugin.lastdrog wrote:Hi!
Have an issue with VDB render. Render time is huge comparing to 2023 version.
Here is a post with video and pictures: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=84019
You can see huge time render difference :
Can anyone help to understand the problem? Thanks.

There are some different reasons for that. I believe material preview functions are not running well on this SDK. Also newer Nvidia drivers than 522.xx are not much stable for my opinion.twik25 wrote:I'm getting a lot of crashes doing simple tasks (like dropping a material onto an object, or changing IOR). I believe I have isolated it to having cards with RTX mixed with non-RTX cards and having RTX acceleration turned on. These crashes are new with either C4D 2025 or the 2024.1 release, as I did not have this issue on C4D2024 with the Beta.
The other thing I have noticed is that when I change values, it takes a long time to update the picture viewer, but if I change cameras it almost updates instantly. This slowdown was not release 2023. This slowdown is in Beta 3 tested on C4D 2024, although not quite as bad. I don't remember noticing it in Beta 1 & 2, and I can't download those versions to test. I have tested with multicore for LV, texture caching, multi-threading, opengl previews, and faster viewport textures on & off with no difference noticed. **Just tested in standalone, and this is a C4D issue, not core**

You may try same without node editor and material previews are enabled.

Hi, Aoktar.
Apparently the "Remove unused Materials" command is not working on C4D 2025. Not sure about other versions.
What about the "Real-time Rendering" toggle switch in Standalone? Does C4D version have one?
Regards,

I'm getting reproducible crashing in Live Viewer whenever I change any transform value of an image texture plugged into the opacity of a material in a mix material.
If I stop the Live Viewer and change the value and then start it again, it works without issue. The live viewer feels really unstable.
Is there any workaround for this?

We couldn't integrate it to plugin because of some missing functionalities of C4D. We need some direct access to GPU to do this.Kalua wrote:Thanks for the Update, Aoktar.
Looking good so far.
One question: check the image, that's the "real-time rendering" button on standlaone.
What's the respective option inside C4D?

I'm experiencing regular crashes as well, when using the Node Editor while the Live Viewer is active (Material Previews disabled). I can't reliably reproduce them, however - C4D freezes, then after a restart and I can do the exact same thing and NOT experience a crash this time.
GPUs is GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER + regular RTX 2070, C4D version is 2025.0.0, Plugin version is 2024.1, Nvidia Driver is 552.22 (not current, but the ones after that were unstable for me during the C4D 2024 + Octane 2023 era).
//EDIT: Re-reading Aoktar's post, I can go back further to 522 and test that, yep.

Turns out I can't, sorry: After rolling back NVidia Drivers to 522.30 as suggested, C4D itself crashes on launch (both C4D 2024 and 2025). Starts up fine again when updating to a more recent driver. I expect this won't be the case for everyone, but yeah, 522 not an option for my setup, apparently. In Maxon's defense, these drivers are two years old at this point.Tim0042 wrote:I'm experiencing regular crashes as well, when using the Node Editor while the Live Viewer is active (Material Previews disabled). Is there anything else I can do / test out?
Disabling the previews in Live Viewer>Options>Previews seems to do the trick on some of the lag issues and stability. Thanks for sharing the tip!aoktar wrote:There are some different reasons for that. I believe material preview functions are not running well on this SDK.
