It is hard to say from here why the tilting axes don’t work. Do you have any drivers or utility software installed? Maybe it has settings to enable or disable certain movement axes for certain applications.
Just for the device itself. And all is set.

So you can understand the issues a bit more.

Have been using an old space navigator for many years now... never had any issues with any stand alone version.
I am having issues with latest C4D verions because since it is an old deviice, it may be having less support of newer softwares... but Octane is not one of them.
C4D 2025.1.1 Octane 2025.1 Build 0104, <<2 X 3090 + NVlink>>, Windows 10, X399, AMD TR 1950X, 128 GB RAM, NVIDIA SD 552.22

We have a compact space mouse (the puck shaped one). We tried it here on a workstation and all 6 axes work.
I've been in contact with the team at 3D connexion. This is the message they sent me.
Thank you for sharing this information—it’s helpful. Could you let us know what version of the SpaceMouse and drivers the team at Otoy is using with their functioning devices? This could provide insight into whether specific versions or configurations are making a difference.

It’s worth noting that as of our last update on 5/26/24, we reached out to the development team to work on implementing full support for the devices. However, there hasn’t been an update since, meaning we currently don’t have the necessary support for the SpaceMouse Enterprise to function as intended in your application. Understanding what’s working for the SpaceMouse users could help us identify potential workarounds or differences. Let us know!

Best,

Tyshaun

So can you give me the device version and Driver version so I can hand it over to them?
Thanks

I spoke to a dev and he said:
...this was added to Octane before any production version of their SDK was released so on Windows it directly reads the motion input using USB HID
and USB HID is a standard thing so I don't think you need any extra drivers

He couldn't find anything printed on the device but it's called a "3Dconnexion SpaceNavigator"

Okay thanks for the info.
But to clarify. You said you don't think I need any extra drivers. But did the person using the space navigator have any drivers for this device installed on his computer? If so what version?
Thanks.

The current device support doesn't rely on the 3Dconnexion driver but it reads the device directly using a lower level data interface. We probably have to update this in Octane itself to support the newer devices.
