Hey Jay,
will gladly do so!

I might be onto something that might have been different. Could you explain why you used the height and plane size you used? it was something like 175 meters and 2048x2048 meters. And what the actual min. height of the world creator scene was?
Reason: when I check the island preset in world creator it has another height than 175 and as I read the plane size in worldcreator is 1024x1024, but what I think could be very important, the min. height of the island preset is 0. The terrain that I created has a min size of 180m and goes as high as 308 which gives around 128m and this is what it said the height map was for game engines (when you export the height map in world creator, so it made sense to use that as anything from 0-180 is nothing really besides dirt lol). maybe there is happening something there that would have not occured when the min height was 0.

About Aaron yeah most def! Its obviously that his stuff does not need tweeking hahaha.. :D its just mind blowing to say the least.

See attached my c4d scene.

I increased the precision in World Creator to 1/2 Meter, hence the 2048 by 2048 meters of the plane vs the original values of 1024. Likely the same with the Height, which I have set to 200 meters. I will review the file you sent a bit later...

The issue would seem to be with the displacer modifier; if I change your modifier to Intensity (not Intensity-Centered) the results match that of Octane's displacement, which is the opposite of my test cases, and the case I documented in the guide. I have no explanation, other than possible differences in World Creator builds regarding export, or different export settings. So far, you have been the only person to raise this issue. What version of Octane and Cinema are you using?

Inteteresting, because when I put it on Intensity its closer but still not matching... even when I turn off the layer effect that corrects the gamma...
Im using the latest version of both cinema4d and octane. Updated just a month ago or so.

Well Im going to try with another height map now, maybe one that is starting from 0 minimum height. curious if thats what causing the problem.

Many thanks and I will open a ticket as you suggested.
Cheers,
Silan

Actually, Octane was just updated earlier this week, so go ahead and grab the latest if you can. It may not matter, but best to be sure.

Did you ever find a solution for this, as I am experiencing the same thing currently!
