Is this the Game ready drivers or the studio drivers??

Definitely looks like a hardware or driver issue Tim. Does Octane Standalone 2021.1 render for you?

Hi Paul,

i cleared out my documents folder which seemed to make s difference but now have gone back and tried to open an ealier version of another file and again getting crashes. Can you open this one??

For reference, updating to the latest Nvidia drivers, and deleting the folder "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\OctaneRender for Rhinoceros" fixed this issue. I think there was a reference in the AppData\Local\OctaneRender for Rhinoceros folder to a folder that did not exist which caused the error.
