OpenColorIO color management
this should also be built-in or at startup, I never found the link where to download it, if I did not find it, then ordinary users will definitely not find the site there, which is not very informative
The standard ACES OCIO config can be downloaded from here.
Here's an example of the different looks that can be applied to an image using the Filmic Blender OCIO config:
where is the download button on this site?

Thanks for your report, it's expected to load as null material now whenever an older scene with specular material with 1.0 IOR and 0.0 roughness is loaded.funk wrote:Thanks team. This is looking like a great release. I've been loading some older scenes and noticed some issue:
1. OTOY's sample SSS scene from the 2020.1 thread loads with a "null material" and crashes on render:

NOTE: This null material also appears in the right click > materials menu
This is because we have to keep specular material as a material to respect the IOR stack while null material would always make the material behave as "pure volume".
As to why it crashes, I will investigate a bit deeper into this and provide a fix.

I thought 2020.2 production build was planned for this summer ? isn't it ?
We can't really make an OCIO config built-in, because we don't know which OCIO config you would like to use. Those links are just suggestions - the ACES OCIO config in particular is a "catch-all" that seems to be intended as a starting point for an organisation to develop their own OCIO workflow using ACES, rather than something to take and start using directly. However, it's still useful for trying out an ACES workflow, even though the sheer number of color spaces it contains is a little overwhelming.Elvissuperstar007 wrote:OpenColorIO color management

GitHub seems to only provide a download link at the top-level of a repository, so you'll have to grab a ZIP file with all the different ACES versions together (suggest using the newest version, 1.0.3). This is available at https://github.com/imageworks/OpenColor ... master.zip (the link in the original post has been updated).
We planned a release for August, but Ampere tuning pushed this out, but it’s worth it. Crazy speeds on 2020.1.5 on 30x0... and will be even faster with 2020.2+ as we optimize RTX even more from here.davidyannick_1 wrote:I thought 2020.2 production build was planned for this summer ? isn't it ?
Correct, it’s just using depth/pos to do a ‘mist’ attenuation pass. We are working on real time GR and have great results in brigade: https://twitter.com/otoy/status/1303018 ... 79296?s=21jimho wrote:fast fog as post means it would not help on the god ray, I guess, right?
Thanks for the extra info on the null material. It makes sense, but this is going to cause issues for plugins, where its not so easy to swap out pre-existing nodeswallace wrote:Thanks for your report, it's expected to load as null material now whenever an older scene with specular material with 1.0 IOR and 0.0 roughness is loaded.funk wrote:Thanks team. Apparently 1.0.3 is old (according to a friend who uses ACES) and he suggested using this instead (ACES 1.2):karu wrote:GitHub seems to only provide a download link at the top-level of a repository, so you'll have to grab a ZIP file with all the different ACES versions together (suggest using the newest version, 1.0.3).

I wasnt sure how "official" this was, but I see its also linked to from the OCIO docs here:
