Lewis wrote:Juan, can you please fix this Clone IPR crash ? It's still there in 2020.1.0.4 (2019.1.5 also).
Thanks
Yes yes thanks for reporting, I also have this error in my octane ....

We are still discussing how to implement this camera on the plugins side due to the fact that it is not a conventional Octane node but a scripted node graph. There are going to be some changes related to this node in the Octane SDK, perhaps adding these same features to the current camera nodes, so I'll wait for them before adding this camera node to my plugins (or update the current camera nodes with the missing parameters).Lewis wrote:Hi Juan,
ANY ETA when we are going to get Universal Camera node in LW plugin? Universal Camera in standalone has much more options that just Thin Lens camera so it is very needed feature.

I think that not all the Octane primitives are rendered using the RTX acceleration, let's say the curves or the particles, but I'm not sure what is rendered using RTX and what not. I suppose that more RTX features will be available in the upcoming builds.Rainbow-3D wrote: Hem... sorry for the question, I have missed something: what are the RTX and the non-RTX gemoetry/primitive?
These spectron light types don't have a volumetric rendering option like the volumetric spotlight, but they should work with the medium environment or objects like the conventional lights. They have the same workflow, but the rendering is faster with less noise.artzgodka wrote:Can I use Volumetrics from Area light now? "Spectron Area and Sphere light types."
I think that this a planned feature for Octane 2020.2Carlos3D wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ts23A3tVnc&t=103s
Every day I wish something like that in the Octane for LightWave so that I can cut the walls of my architectural models.
It is possible for Juanjo to create a clipper like this in the next versions of Octane.
I would be very grateful.
I'm afraid that this is not possible, or at least it is not possible without writing a whole new plugin for the Modeler. Currently the Octane plugin is a Layout only application.Carlos3D wrote:It would be great to have also Octane connected to the modeler, because when I'm doing mappings on the modeler I can't see the images I'm mapping on a surface, I always have to guess what I'm mapping!
There is a technical writer working in the new manual, so I hope it could be updated soon. Meanwhile, there are some topics about volumetric rendering in this forum that perhaps could help you.PaGz wrote:My only request is the Octane for Lightwave manual to be updated so i can understand how to use volumetric vdb files with octane.
Hmm, is this possible in LightWave? I mean can you do that in the LightWave native nodes?Carlos3D wrote:Would it be possible to select multiple nodes from the same family and then I can change their parameters at the same time? ...
I've been trying to reproduce this problem here, but without luck so far. Do you have the hub enabled?BorisGoreta wrote:When IPR is rendering a layer of some object if that layer is deleted in Modeler while IPR is running Layout crashes.
