I can’t find the cinema4d noises in standalone.
It requires to use from some special osl node. It will be available with C4D plugin.
That doesn't make sense.

According to the blurb, it says 'Added Cinema 4D noises to standalone. These will also be available from the Cinema 4D plugin.'

This, to me, impiies that C4D Noises are available in Standalone - as well as the C4D Plug-in.

I don't get from that description that they are mutually exclusive.

I fully expected to open standalone and find a new Noise node or see them bundled with the existing Noise node. Or perhaps living in the LiveDB with the other recent OSL textures, but they are not.

There is not direct UI access to Cinema4D noises in standalone at the moment as you expect. Cinema4D noises are in fact exposed via OSL built-in functions implemented in the Octane core for best performance.

They can currently be imported from ORBX imported from Cinema4D and also used via an OSL node. We have still to decide wether specific nodes will be available this feature as it is DLC specific.

We really appreciate your feedback. This is the reason why we release development builds, but please keep in mind the the forum rules when making any request.

Okay...
The Hair shader....

No matter what settings throughout the whole material are applied or adjusted (Albedo mode, Melanin mode, IOR, roughness, etc), it can only produce a hard black, a grey, a white, or a gradient white to black.
No colors at all.

Opacity is great, just the colors need fixing.

I've reported this issue on the Maya plugin section, but the Standalone have the same problem.
Bug with the Opacity mask over a material that uses random walk SSS.
The shadows projected on the head have the silhouette of the geometry, ignoring the opacity mask.

The Hair Material works on curves. That's what it is for.

Thanks for the response, sorry if my post was a little heated, I have amended it accordingly...

But I'm still not sure how C4D Noises are implemented in Standalone.

I think what I want to know is, will C4D noises be available in Standalone without using C4D ?

Thanks again
