Hi Paride.
I'm trying to solve this strange behavior of the projection OctaneLight that you can see on this screen capture.
It is not emitting straight away, the light source seems to be reversed and there is this first volume of light near the source.
Setting the light dimension to Length = 0 and Width =0 has not effect. Switching on or off the visible parameter makes no difference too...

Hi cmatias,
maybe an obvious question, but did you try flipping the object normal?

Hey Paride!
I'm emitting from an OctaneLight. I setup a plane just behind the light to see precisely where the light is.
The light is emitted from the tiny light you can see on the viewport.

Hello cmatias,
have you "Double sided" option checked in your OctaneLight?

Paride,
No double side.
Check the demo Max 2020 or Max 2017 file I posted before on this thread, you will see the issue right out of the box.

Hello cmatias,
your file seems work fine, I have no double projection issue.
I don't know. Am I not doing something right?

Hi Hi Paride.
Don't change anything on my demo file, and zoom on the single side light, and you will see this :
