thanks, really, it means a lot coming from all of you guys.
I've done a couple extra renders tweaking the lights to see if I could get better results from PMC, but as you can see, (firefly 15) in PT it looks better for some reason, and I'm certain that in the first tests PMC was doing better, also this last ones got out a little grainier, so I've downsized all 3 to half. Specs on the filenames

PMC, no color correction, I let it cook for some time, yet I couldn't achieve the desire result. Halfsized

PT much faster and less samples, yet it looks better than PMC. Color corrected and halfsized.

I was moving the camera and found this shot, I had to let it cook. PT, color corrected and halfsized

Your second set makes me think it's your reference photo for first set. OMG, how can you do that with the fur (?? i dun know how to call it) outside of firefly wings and body.
Most of all this is awesome man.

thanks guys, btw the "fur" is just a thin base triangle scattered over some areas with 10k instances with a grey glossy .7 opacity material (white shows up too much and black can't be seen) the whole mesh with a turbosmooth of x2 on the body and the "hair" is under 80k triangles. I'll improve the hair with a blurred texture that it'll look better for close ups.

Great work. I'm curious... what program did you use to create the model and rig?
