+1, but I'd also like to have a button allowing to disable shadow casting for a material. This would allow the use of a spherical (skydome) or cylindrical textured mesh as environment, usable with the Daylight system. Currently the light of the sun is blocked by the skydome or cylinder.
The two functions below are not directly in the topic, but Lighting and shadows are linked phenomenon, and the two proposals below are very important features IMHO :
In the same kind of idea, a button allowing to enable shadow only without showing the mesh would be usefull (shadow caster object).
And one more thing that has nothing to do with environment lighting, but only with shadows : a button allowing a material to be invisible but receiving transparent shadow (for compositing with ground in an other application).
