So if there is no way to control color independantly on a scatter node, can we take it the other way, treat the replicator as render time with an option like don't render as instance and make the plugin create real copy, and get the color automaticaly from the shader Inputs node ?
I think you would need to bake the Modo replicator into individual meshes (if this is even possible) to do this.

The Octane plugin converts Modo Replicators to Octane Scatter nodes, and that is pretty deeply ingrained in the plugin, and whilst in theory it could be changed, it would be a huge amount of work, and not something I think would be justified by the benefits that users would get.

ok no problem !

I tried the same setup on the demo version of octane for C4D and it works as expected but i can't export orbx from the demo version, i'm curious to see how the C4D dev achieved this

Since there is a new "User defined instance IDs" Functionality in Octane 3.07 is there a way to shade Particles/Replicators bei Particle Age or ID?

That would be Awesome!

[quote]Since there is a new "User defined instance IDs" Functionality in Octane 3.07 is there a way to shade Particles/Replicators bei Particle Age or ID?[quote]I could have the plugin assign a unique Instance Id to each Replicator item, but they would not necessarily be in a logical order - it would just be the first instance would have id 1, the next id 2, etc. Would that be useful?

That could be very useful! I want to achieve something like this:
Bildschirmfoto 2017-09-21 um 01.36.33.png
The colour of the Instance is based on the particle ID or the age of the particle. It would be great if we could do this in Octane.

Hi - this has now been implemented in the plugin, and will be available in the next release.
