Hi guys
The dop network and all successive operations such as import from dops into sop have no transformations whatsoever at least not something explicit. The only thing to note is that the whole scene is in centimeters. The strange thing though is that the same vdb cache renders fine in octane for houdini yet not in octane for cinema.
VDB Volume world space is not identical to Houdini

There is two method for volumes.WhyGee wrote:Hi guys

1-Transfering VDB file name to octane. Units has be setted.
2-Transfering voxels to octane.
Here in case no:1 is used.
Octane For Cinema 4D developer / 3d generalist
3930k / 16gb / 780ti + 1070/1080 / psu 1600w / numerous hw
3930k / 16gb / 780ti + 1070/1080 / psu 1600w / numerous hw
How you did? As i know in houdini plugin is transfering voxels by memory mechanism not by files. Otherwise with using vdb filenames it will be same under equal parameters.WhyGee wrote:Yes that's what we did. Why is there a difference between octane for houdini and octane for cinema using the exact same files?

In houdini there are also 2 options for rendering volumes. One is directly from voxels in memory and the other by specifying vdb files as Yam did in cinema. I used that method to render from vdb files and it works fine in octane for houdini therefor i suspect there might be something wrong with the cinema to octane translation. Maybe Juan could advice
Thank you
Thank you
Well, while rendering from OpenVDB files, the Houdini plugin is using the Octane native VDB functions, that I suppose are the same used in all the other plugins. Do you know if Standalone has problems with these files?
Thanks,
