Sorel I wouldn't mind see what you did for that.

Yea, I would like to see it. But is what I did something close? Adjusting the gamma, and I get some nice results.

Sorry for the delay. Here is a scene with my shader. Just merge it into a scene your working on and then you can save it as a preset for yourself. I set up the template to where it will automatically pickup the diffuse texture for the "upper layer" and the sss map for the bottom layer. You'll need to adjust the color brightness in the node with the sss map to your liking. You'll also probably have to add the spec map yourself into reflection channels.

Sorel, thanks for the file. Stupid question. How do I use it? Do I load V7 and drag your shader onto the V7 Textures in the Materials Tab? Thanks.

So after you have your figure loaded (you can also do this before you load the figure) in studio, go to file>merge, and then merge the shader file into the scene and it will show up in unused materials. You can then save it to your presets. Then you cna either right click copy, then paste template onto the materials you want or you can click and drag the shader from your presets onto the materials you want.

Thanks. Tried dragging the shader under "unused" which is only one file, onto the torso, and it turned dark brown. I guess I have to change the gamma or color in some node. But no success. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

That shader looks great, but er... I'm having the same issue on applying it. Reflections look good, but I can't figure out how you got the diffuse map to show up on a specular material. This is what I get when I just drag and drop the shader template on Aiko's face:

If you are using a very recent build of the Daz Plugin you will need to set the absorption color to black, it can't just be set to none anymore. I learned this last week lol.

Yeah, that got the texture to show up, though it was still pretty dark. After messing with the scattering directions I managed to get it brighter.

This is as bright as I could get it, (scattering direction for upper node: -1, lower node: -.6), not quite as bright as the original texture (neck) but close.

Thanks!

EDIT: Looks like the optimal scattering direction settings vary depending on the lighting you use.

Otoy have been able to reproduce this issue in Octane Standalone, and are looking into it.
