Hello,
Even though I installed the fixed version 9.12, Octane server keeps on crushing every time I try to load Materials LiveDB or after a rendering process has finished.
It crashes every 5-10 seconds, not minutes! :P I dont get any error messages, it just quits.
I am using Windows 10 / 32 GB ram / 2x TitanX / i7 3770k
The problem appears no matter how many polygons there are in a scene.
Any tips, or advice would be really helpful.
I am working on my thesis for graduation.... so no rendering means no Certificate :(

Thank you,
Stelios

hi,

the fixed version 9.12 doesn't work for me either.

Being Online Octane Server crashes randomly.
Being Offline works fine without crashing.

Hi, no problems so far, no crash using live DB or finish render.
Work for one hour today testing live DB with 9.12.
Specs in singnature.

Cheers, mib

I think I found another problem. Actually Saramary reported it.
It must crash after you open LiveDB window.... I'll check it when I reach the office.

I'm not having that issue on Linux, but the window is slow to open. It appears to work fine after opening.

It is OK if it is slow to open right after OctaneServer start - because right after start OctaneServer refreshes the LiveDB cache for some time and does not respond to LiveDB requests from Blender. So, if you have opened the LiveDB window right after start of OctaneServer - it may hang for a wile before getting the data from server...

I'm still investigating, but there is definitely something strange happening sometimes, at least on my Windows setup... Some fluctuating issue...
I'll release a bug-fix version as soon as I find the reason.

If you still have some issues with LiveDB - just re-download the 9.12 version and reinstall it. For Windows it is enough to just re-download the OctaneServer installer.

I've already fixed it, and going to release the Windows and Linux versions with this fix tomorrow.
The only negative here - the OSX version can't be built currently for technical reasons. I will build and release it later, as soon as I get and set up an OSX build-machine for it... Apologies for inconvenience...
Do you have any ETA for OSX version? The crashing is driving me nuts :/
