Totally had the same issues doing fresh installs today on 2 machines for a client. The machines would "double activate" standalone and then there's no way to open the software and de-activate. I don't understand why the de-activate isn't available on the web any more. It took me an hour and a half to sort the issue which involved installing and uninstalling serious beta versions forever. There needs to be some sort of emergency deactivation other than emailing Otoy and waiting for assistance. Like a terminal command or something. If you can't open your software to deactivate you're really gonna be screwed.

Are you kidding me? This never got resolved???? This post was from May. Its October and I'm having the exact same problem and there is NO forum reference on how to solve this problem?
PLEASE. Anyone who has dealt with this problem before and knows a solution, I could really use some help. Without any warning, my usernames and passwords for both my main and my slave machines are NOT being accepted.
Under extreme deadline pressure and all of my files are unavailable much less ready to render

If you'd give more details about what's your actual problem, even a screenshot would help us lots, as the issue this thread is about has been fixed long ago so it's quite likely not the same.ChrisPettit wrote:Are you kidding me? I suspect you are getting confused because in Octane 3 (I can see your licenses are v3) there's no such a thing as usernames and passwords apart from your OTOY account, which is now all you need to enter in order to sign in and activate Octane.
Please let me know about your specific issue in case you still need help.
Hello, Can someone please help me? I am working on an animation VR rendering deadline...
****THIS IS URGENT***** ****THIS IS URGENT*****
I have run out of unlocks on two of my Octane Standalone licenses. The reason is that I am using Ubuntu slaves for network rendering and the automatic unlock is not working on Linux. I am not running a graphical environment on Ubuntu so I cannot go into the OCS GUI to sign out of my account.
Please can OTOY reset my unlocks back to 5?
I have sent multiple emails to OTOY Support asking for help with this.

Unlocks are not for this. Why don't you install a gui and use standalone to signout?nrygpu wrote:Hello, Can someone please help me? I am working on an animation VR rendering deadline...

Thank you for replying aoktar,
However at this time with the GPU servers I am using I am unable to signout using the OCS GUI.
Shouldn't the automatic unlocking of the license work with Linux as well?
The problem is that sometimes these servers power off automatically based on certain conditions and it can be completely random. Then when I go to start them back up I am using a Image of the installation to reboot the server. Even if it is on the same server hardware OCS seems to think it is a different computer as far as the licensing goes. When this powering off of the server happens automatically then I lose the ability to have any possible way to unlock the license other than using the OTOY licensing website page. It is similar to a computer crashing and not being able to access it again.
If the OCS automatic releasing of the license worked properly on Linux as it does on Windows then I would not be having this issue at all.
What else can I do? Are you saying that OTOY is not going to reset the unlocks? What happens now that I am at ZERO unlocks? Do I just lose the ability to use the additional OCS license that I just paid the full price of $399 for this week???

I setup a GUI on Linux so now I can log out of my Otoy account...however the same problem still exists if the Linux slave machines are powered off randomly. I can reboot them and not loose access to the OCS license but if they are powered off and then back on then I lose access to the license permanently. The reason is because I am using a network attached image of the Linux install to start the servers back up. From a fresh power on it changes some things like the local IP address and whatever else that makes the Octane license not recognize the computer as being the same. This means I need to re-login to OCS but I am down to 0 Unlocks on one of my OCS licenses and I am down to just 1 Unlock on another.
Can someone please help? I have emailed OTOY Support about this multiple times with no response still after several days. This is very frustrating as we have paid for these licenses and many of us are often working on tight deadlines. The licensing system is broken if it is does not automatically deactivate the license from Linux based machines. It works fine on Windows but it is BROKEN on Linux systems. Can OTOY please fix this important issue???
