i use win7 ultimate

master: 1x GTX680, Cinema4D (all versions)
clients1: 4x titan
client2: 4x 780

it was perfect with the 2.23.x versions.
with 2.24 the problems started.

also standalone crashes with network rendering enabled...

Please Otoy...

or anyone else has this problem?!

could it be any cloud rendering implementation problem?!

immortalartscom wrote:hey, thx for release. here network render worked always perfectly till 2.24.1... is it possible that there were some changes on your side? i use c4d plugin but ahmet ensured that this is a standalone problem.
the clients take very long to show up on master. so long that the first 10 times i tested it, i did not wait till they were there... :)
c4d also crashes because of that...

any ideas?

thx
Does that happen only once after you switched the version and after that the slaves come up reasonably fast? Or does it always take ages to start a slave? On which operating system is the master and are the slaves running?

I just gave it a quick try and it works fine here. What do we have to do to reproduce the crash?

I've only seen 2 client disconnects so far in 2.24.xx. No client errors. They just lost the connection while rendering and the client had to get restarted to find the master again.

Hi,
no problem here with net render on v2.24.1 on both standalone and C4D plugin as well.
@immortalartscom: are you sure to have the correct combination of versions between standalone and c4dOctane?

There's not much we can do about those black reflections. There is just nothing in your scene to render in those places. You can't render the sky in those reflections, unless you want the appearance of a building floating somewhere in the sky. Normally in those windows you would see the reflection of the surrounding landscape but your scene doesn't have a surrounding landscape.

So what would you expect to be rendered in those windows?

But in vray this issue has long been resolved
octane limited in the number of polygons to 19 million
customers sent a very heavy scene, even 6-gigs card can not cope, and you offer me to make the environment))
in max is a function to use a selection texture

If you render an environment with the lower hemisphere being black, then of course, the reflections of that hemisphere will be black. So either put a floor into your scene or make the the lower hemisphere not black. If that's not your problem, then what is it?

My guess is VRay does something similar as this node graph:
dome + ground plane.orbx
You may go into that graph and replace the images in the two image texture nodes.
