I just purchased Octane standalone and C4d plugin. Standalone is activated but the plugin gives me a error message "can't connect to the server". Any suggestions?

I have checked the servers logs for any requests with your C4D license key and haven't found any.
This means that there must be something between our server and your computer stopping the connection (as the error message suggests).
Are you part of a company network where there may be a proxy server or other internet access control?

You will need direct access to https://live.octanerender.com (that is 54.243.210.230 on port 443)

How do I set up direct access on Yosemite? Can you point me in the right direction.

What happens if you try to go here: https://live.octanerender.com in your browser?
Do you get a warning about the certificate not being valid (this is normal).

Ok, that is a good sign (and normal)
It shows you definitely have access to our servers.

If the standalone and the browser is working it must be something specific inside C4D.
Can you please post a screenshot of the exact error message?

In console it says "Initialisation error"

Entering user details gets me this message.

By curiosity I went back to version V14 to check if I can activate the plugin. This is the error messages I got.
