Guys, it's a panoramic render of the morning fog scene he posted in 2013 or so. The fog consists of two media: One large volume for the mist/haze and and smaller volume close to the ground for the fog. We used it as test scene for the GearVR.

No magic involved, just artistic skills and Andrey knowing his 3D stuff ;)

hmmm....that is interesting ;)

Couldn't help it to give it a try...with a old model/project I just rendered with Octane 2.21 and it clears really fast....lets hope they managed to implement volumetrics/fog without the use of boxes... 8-)

ohhh thx mate....so that's the mist effect is a 2nd volume....always learning :D

Probably gonna be the main Octane 3.0 feature
