I'm testing Corona 1.0 demo.
I used last year the alpha, I built a masterplan, a large model with buildings and trees.
At that time Octane hadn't yet displacement and proxy features.
The interactive or rt side of Corona is not comparable to the Octane one, we need fast processors, multi core Xeons.
Recently I modeled another masterplan with buildings, trees, cars, walking people, lot of proxies, diplacements. With my old GTX580s I can do walkthroughs, then I connect all my GPUs to collaborate to the same render view, in few seconds I get a final image at full quality.
It's a joy working with Octane.

but...

The only Corona feature I love is the photometric light feature. We can put fix and target ies lights. We can see the distribution and orientation, we can use tons of ies lights, finally the noise is well controlled.
In Octane the ies light tool is the worst feature. Architects can't light a museum precisely targeting hundreds of lights because the lack of target point. Can't orient the distribution of asymmetrical lights because they don't see how the ies distribution is oriented.
Having lot of ies in Octane is a nightmare.

I asked to Karba this feature for 3 years.

Thanks to people, who can see the power and big effort in plugin side. Also we can orient the ies lights in c4d.

obviously we must congratulate the huge work of Aoktar, nobody can say otherwise
but it s true that for settings and positioning lights is not practical and easy
And please really expected news solution about network rendering
