I'm no expert on this, but I think, Yeah, there is a reason =) just remember launch of 980. While nVidia was jumping around shouting how efficient is their new Maxwell architecture, tomsHardware was delivered an SKU from Gigabyte with I believe wind force cooler & non-reference design board (though I can make a mistake here..) so how how does that went?..after initial review they concluded this card was actually very hungry (& they or some others expressed the view, it might be capped because of power) - it was so bizarre, that nVidia puled the trigger & asked tomsHardware to modify the original content of that article pulling out the data =) 'cos it wasn't reflecting real world situation (in their view =) so all this power craziness especially on extreme edge OC might be useful. Saw some other companies working on power delivery daughter boards for GPUs - so it's probably know issue, but it far of the scope of my interests =)..One thing for sure..- for OctaneRender it's not the best best.. - price expected at least few hundred dollars higher (digging a grave in value graph =)

Thanks glimpse.

Yes. I remember some first power scores for 900 series. Since then I am not particularly curious of 900, luckily having 780 with 6gb :)
But still curious about next generation of titans or 210 chip in gtx line. This would rock.

yeah, I'm waiting for GTC exactly for the same reason - have a feeling nvidia is going to show something there =) 980/970 could be skipped easily by Octane community - Guys still find 780 6gb on sale for ridiculous prices =DDD..

How's Your rig doing? Any upgrades, tweaks or anything else along those lines? =)

Not having too much time last days. Learning modo intensively for new projects. I hope to order demciflex filters - they should open their factory as of today. I lack of filters - too much dust with so much positive air pressure and 16 fans inside :)
