Im pretty sure you can, they can do the mac mini and macvidcards has done a nMP so don't see why you couldn't do it to an iMac.

:) DO IT. it works perfectly well. My setup is one RM850 PSU, 2 Titan Black, 2 AKiTiO both with Powered Risers using thunderbolt daisy chain. ( I'm switching to 2 Titan Z this week ) Works perfect with my Octane Render C4D Plugin.

Im preparing a tutorial on how to put together all the parts and how to edit the .kext files. I will post pics later.

garytyler:
What PSU are you using?
The Titan z gets really hot when rendering?
If you look at the spec for the AKiTiO PCIe box it says that Graphics cards are NOT supported.
Are you using something else or have you just found that even though they are not supported they do still work?
I'm really interested in this technology as I only have a macbook pro but just want to know, will it actually work despite the manufacturers specification?

Also, I just upgraded to a Titan Z today. I was curious how much of a speed increase I would see. So far, it looks like an average of about a 30% speed increase compared to the GTX 780. In a normal desktop system I would possibly see more but the 6 GB vram was part of my reason for the upgrade. One thing I'm curious about is running another eGPU on my 2nd Thunderbolt 2 port. I don't see why this would not be doable for Octane rendering. If I get the cash saved up, maybe I'll give that a shot.

Also, I am able to edit 4k REDRAW video in Premiere Pro on my internal GT 750M while simultaneously rendering on Octane High Priority on the Titan Z. I call that success.
How you got the Titan Z working with your MacBook Pro? Mine, every time I open C4D it crash the OSX. I got the EVGA one.
Can you explain your set up.

Thanks!
Jose

Yes the specs says that Graphics cards are NOT supported but it works.
Check my setup pics, I got 1 and 2GTX titan black using thunderbolt daisy chain.

Jose and garytyler: how is the noise levels on your setups?

I'm running x2 GTX780s and the fan noise brings me back to my Powermac Quad G5 days... And let's not even talk about the heat!

Noise is not bad, heat is crazy but you can control it. The good part is that I can render with my MacBook Pro, so I don't care that much about the noise. :D
