What 3dsmax version do you use?
Could some of your send me a simple scene with this issue?

I know, it sounds stupid, but I can't reproduce it.
Do you use Ornatrix or Hair Farm?

max still hands with 700 cuda error. after rendering i cannot just continue rendering another camera angle for example or scene. I have to close max and relaunch the scene to start new rendering to avoid that.

I am having this same problem. I can only render once per session of max. If I try to switch cameras or close the octane window and then re-open it errors. Also if I close the octane window and then try to use the max render it errors. This was also happening in v2.02 but not in v2.00.
