The instant update is working for me for the Octane Viewport - but requires you press OK for the Rhino preview window to update the color. Is this not working for you?

it would be great to have a field where we can directly feed in at least RGB values or may be # color codes so that, copying and pasting color is more easy.

You can copy and paste RGB Color nodes by rightclicking them. I just noticed that pasting an RGB does not update the preview image, which I will fix. If you really need to enter numbers for a color, this can be done, but it is not a 5min change, so the Octane2 enhancements probably take priority.

Sorry, I just rechecked the instant color update and now its working. Not sure it didn't work yesterday.

I just found copy paste option for color in Octane Render panel. And therefore the text input is not needed.
