Great renders!
I would like to see the final full front and side views with hair.

Amazing work. The sculpting and texture is fantastic. And the rendering is the best portrait with skin that i have seen in octane!!.

How long did it take to render and in what hardware?

Thanks ;)

I just upgraded my system with 3 680 GTX's. I am now able to render a bunch more polys much faster, so I decided to test out this model with updated hair. 13 million polys in the scene and it took about an hour to render.

I wouldn't even know how to get here .. looks great. I guess it is not just about punching a cobe with sculpt tools and a face skin texture :P

Freaking awesome. Skin looks incredible. I can practically smell his cologne.

best,
O

ps. Out of curiosity, with this exact lighting, I wonder what would happen if you placed a tiny highlight on his right eye?

I have some geo tweaks to do to the hair, so maybe I will put in a gobo for the eyes while I am at it. The darkness of that eye bothers me too.

I created the hair geometry with ZBrush Fibermesh. I converted it to geo, used some custom brushes to refine it and exported it as an obj. It is about 7 million polys. The hair material is a custom material I made based on some hair shading papers. i will do a big brain dump on that soon, and upload my latest skin and hair materials to the db as well.
