Ok fantastic Paul,
Seems to be working now. I had to reboot, as it was caching the old settings at first but
seems to have updated now. I assume if I get over 68 textures, in the future, a different type of fix will be needed, correct? But I imagine we will cross that bridge if we come to it. thank you.

Yes, over 68 grayscale and you'll need to delete some bump maps, or convert the floatimage nodes to image nodes (since "image" nodes are RGB, and you 144 of those) . Rightclick the plugin Materials tab tree for some options related to this. There are also a number of threads about reducing bump/trans maps in this forum.I assume if I get over 68 textures, in the future, a different type of fix will be needed, correct? hi Paul,
I did a quick test yesterday and after a while working on a scene I was no longer able to select the material in the Plugin by clicking on it in Posers material room.
I wish, I could be more precise, but I didn't have too much time to evaluate. Here's what I did: I made several modifications to the plugin materials, stopped and started the render a few times, closed and reopened the render window and changed the camera position in Poser. Even a complete restart of the plugin didn't help. I didn't restart Poser, though.
I'll keep an eye on it if this will happen again.
Also, starting the render window collapses the whole material tree. I'm not sure, but didn't that happen in previous version?
Uwe

You said you changed camera and then the material selection no longer worked
Do you still have the camera selected in Poser? If so, it will not work. Select something else in Poser will make the material selection work again (it is in the FAQ and readme I believe).
Restarting the plugin would not help since the camera is still the active object in Poser

If there is one thing I hate.... Its when poser throws out a error " poser has stopped working" when you are nearly finnished. Just blowing off steam!

Urgh - yes, that seems to be the case. Never stumbled into this before - strange.wimvdb wrote:You said you changed camera and then the material selection no longer worked

Anyway. Fiddling with some more complex shaders I found that the "Remove Bump Maps" function won't work if you have a little more elaborated bump setting:

It has happened for a few version now, and is necessary. Also, starting the render window collapses the whole material tree. I'm not sure, but didn't that happen in previous version?
Let me check this out when I add the "Change floatimage to image" function in a couple of weeks.Anyway. Fiddling with some more complex shaders I found that the "Remove Bump Maps" function won't work if you have a little more elaborated bump setting:

I've just had a render restart on me after 8 hours because I changed hotpixel_removal. I don't suppose that is the way nature intended it to be, lol. (Fortunately, I had a feeling in my gut and had saved the render before I touched anything.)

I am 99% certain that this is happening because you use the middle mousehwheel to scroll the tree, and if the tree does not have the focus, the mousewheel instead increments/decrements the currently selected tree item. I am thinking I may have to disable the mousewheel moving of sliders, since it makes it too easy to accidentally restart a render.I've just had a render restart on me after 8 hours because I changed hotpixel_removal. If doing an 8hr render - always use progressive save. That way you can use the neat right mouseclick function on the viewport to compare with the previous render too.
