How does multi GPU work?

with my setup PhysX needs to be enabled.

I also need PhysX enabled or my second card disappears.

Same here, that is why I mentioned it needing to be on. I also check everything in the Cuda Visual Profiler to make sure Cuda is seeing everything. I know under Linux it doesn't seem to matter.
System 1: EVGA gtx470 1280Mb and MSI gtx470 1280 in Cubix Xpander for Octane, AMD 945, 4Gb Ram
All systems are at stock speeds and settings.
