Ad&A:
Greetings.
I am perplexed as to how you are mapping the jpg image onto the cube without getting massive distortions (or visible creases).
For example, in the following image I don't see any distortions on the image that is mapped. The fence on the left side looks normal:

But in this top view of the image, the mapped image looks distorted. For example, the fence on the left looks distorted:

Also, your "cube" doesn't look like a true cube. It looks like it has been modified slightly. What modifications are made so that the projection looks correct?
Would you be so kind as to explain the process a little bit more. Or is there a tutorial somewhere that explains how to do this?
I would love to learn more about this process.

GeoPappas:
Hi,
1. it 's a simple cube with round corners
2. camera maping ( same aspect as image ) REMEMBER THE FOV
3. baking ( bigger resolution than image)
4. export
5. OPEN IN OCTANE AND SET THE SAME FOV
C4d is good to do that.
What i cannot do is to render a nice scene in octane, because all smoothing groups are weird.
In c4d smoothing is by angle so even i import back the obj in c4d is OK ,in octane is crazy.
I need a tip.
Look at the brake pads!

Thanks for the breakdown in C4D. That's really helpful for preplanning scenes when bringing them into Octane.

Can you show a close up of the break pad (or other smoothing issues you are having)? I'm having a hard time seeing it from the render.
