I am a Lightwave user and bought Octanerender two years ago.
Have not used it hoping for Lightwave integration.
Is that ever going to happen?

Thanks,

It's on the road map, however it depends on a 3rd party developer successfully creating this plug-in. LW users are very important to us, and it is a priority at OTOY to get this done as soon as possible. We'll keep you posted.

you know goldorak, I am really happy to read your response. We, lightwave users, are waiting your good news about plugin announcement.

There is a some level negativity in our forums that Octane wont be ever like Maxwell which has a very efficient plugin for Lightwave, because of OTOY's relationship with Autodesk and this really bug me.

That is why your every response will be giving us debate in our own forums.

For 3rd party plugin developer issue, did you find somebody who can port Octane for LW or there is nobody qualified for this job?

thanks for your response again ...

What???????

My dreams can become reality???

I have abandoned a little bit octane in my last projects because of the workflow with lightwave. Too much additionnal work to use it.
And this is sad because octane is for me the best render engine I have see...

I think, like many others lightwave users, if a plugin is developed, octane becomes my primary render engine.

Please do this plugin and I think a very large lightwave users become your customers.

goldorak said this depends on a 3rd party developer....but he didnt specify that anyone was actually working on it...

just thought I would ask for clarification...

Is a plugin currently being worked on?
Or is Otoy waiting to be contacted by interested developer?

Thanks

may be OTOY can talk to Newtek - Lightwave 3D Group - directly... I am sure new Lightwave management especially ROB can be very interested ..

I was one of the first octane buyers but still waiting for the real lightwave integration.

Do you have any idea how long we still have to wait? I have seen some nice LW Octane previews on Facebook already.
Can't we have the beta already?

Love the Octane 1.01 by the way, but really need a octane renderer inside Lightwave for animation.
