Octane (Demo Version) Import Problem From 3d Max (2010)

Hi ,
Can anyone help me about importing OBJ files and render ?

For Example When i import 4 Boxes From 3D Max and try to assign a Diffuse material to each one , it seems that 4 boxes converted to 1 object and i can`t assign 4 different Diffuse color to them.
what`s the problem? i don`t know . :?:

Hi,

you have to asign 4 different mats before You export Your model =)
then, after import ontop of the model You'll have 4 conectors for material nodes, to apply diff mats =)

Or, if You have one material aplied, You can used unwrapped masks in order to mix different materials for different parts of the mesh =)

You need different base materials or different UV maps in 3dsmax before export for each object.

Hi Again
I did two thins , but they didn`t work.

1- 2 different materials with 2 different colors
2 - assign UVW map to each boxes.

it`s Boring ................................ .

If you move the OBJ file to another location don't forget to move the MTL file with it. Octane uses this MTL file to decide what material inputs the mesh node should have.

Now it`s working.
But why ?
if i just assign Diffuse color to each layer (Scene Dosn`t include any map) i cant`t have them separately in the Nod Material editor.
Does Octane Work with Layers (main file in 3d max) ?

Hi I use 3ds max 2014 and octane 1.51...when i import obj file there is no material in the scene:(How can i fix mtl problem?
