The OR Benchmark gives me (4x580, OR 2.57, driver 285.62) these results:
16.72 Ms/sec (4.18 Ms/sec with just one GPU.)
To my surprise with SLI enabled it's just a little difference: 16.53 Ms/sec.

When I set my PC configuration for maximum performance it automtic wants to enable SLI.
OR advices to disable SLI.

Can someone explain if there are more pro's and cons of disabling/enabling SLI
besides just this little speed difference I had?

You will have much less memory available if you enable SLI. On some computers the rendering will also be much slower.

As Roeland mentioned is is a fail to keep it in SLI- your memory in complex scenes will be a HUGE issue.
I have 2 GTX 590 and 1 580 (3GB)
