pripyat_HD.jpg
Here's a scene capturing the town sign of Pripyat with an abandoned vehicle near it.
Modeled in Blender and rendered with Octane 2.57 with pathtracing with just a sky texture for illumination.

Please do leave your comments about the work.

Thanks

I like it very much.. The dramatic, the backlight, the old-look textures and the whole setup scenery.
The only thing I can think of to improve it to my own taste is to make the reflection of the water rmuch less and make it more different by dirty water or something else, with the goal to make it different from the upper part of the image.
It will make it even more interesting while now it is almost a mirrored image.
But hey... I am impressed very much by your post.. 4 thumbs up if I had 4 thumbs

I agree with what rappet said about the water. Nice atmosphere! You could also give it a more vintage look in post - its the 70', as the sign says ;) (edit: even if its meant to be a recent shot of the place, a vintage postprocess would make it more gloomy and add to the feeling)

Polls dont work, btw.

The Van is a bit cartoony vs the rest of the scene. Try some specularity on the headlight so they appear to be glass not metal. The gloomy atmosphere shown in the background does not transfer to the midground of the image.
You may have to use post work or a fog plane to get a better blend of the sign and the backdrop.
This is a very good composition and idea, just hoping you will take it a bit further if you are going for the realistic look and feel.
Keep up the good work anf thanks for sharing.
