And I like it so far. I haven't thought of many productive uses for it yet so I can't really rationalize buying this, but it sure is one hell a lot of fun.

Most shots rendered within 1024 samples. Some 2048, some 600. The second is 16k samples. And the third one is 5k.

I wonder, you guys are voxelizing something during the obj import process, why not write an Voxlap/Rawvox importer. You know just for fun. Or is that idea too silly?

remember that devil lies in the detail... and so far what I can say... theres no devil here :(

If You want me to be more precise... in this kind of scene ( and the models ) You cant go BLAST in the modeling / detail... thats for sure. So Im not gonna tell anything about the models ;)

maybe try to improve the materials and the lightning ( add bumps / scratches on those models so they feel used by someone... )

in every shot ( if you aim for realism ) You should always go macro with the depth... ( car is made from little little blocks... not real car scale - but toy scale )

textures are terrible ( in terms of colors and the overall quality ) better remove them and go for one glossy color with little scratches for blocks....

contrast / brightness - I know everyone has different screen setup... but this is way too washed out...

for instance... start with kodakchrome 64CD on gamma 2.2 and play with exposure a little...

and definetly improve the environments

You should definetly go with slight vignete.... almost not visible... but it will darken a corners a liiiiiiiitle bit... and You can focus users attention to the center on some of them. ( not all around )

and set renders to pathtracing at least. We got 2012. ;)

sorry if its been to harsh... but I lack of english skills.

and if this doesnt help for like 10% of quality..... You must watch watch watch watch ... movies / posters / shorts / vfx movies / weather outside / people on the streets .... watch life and the colors :)

oh and one more thing....

look how much of stuff did you made in all those shots... if You put Your exact same time and exact same effort.. on one image ( not 20 ) ... You will get huuuuuge improvement... ...and I bet You will be noteiced here... and some more ppl will comment :)

Believe me ...Its always better to have one image with a hell lot of quality... than 100 of them with no quality.

keep up !

I guess mlody didn't realize these are exports from minecraft..
- BTW he also has a lot of high quality works around this forum, so he was really trying to give you advice - since you were so eager to get some feedback -
- what kind of C&C were you expecting?

It's overcontrasted and washed out, and tone down the the DOF usage, ..it's easy to over do it..
try and aim for a certain look or feel, something to be commented on, this is stuff you imported and played with it.. and that is exactly what it looks like
you know, really play with it, convert materials to something else and make interesting angles, set the time on the daylight rig to 5-6 so it has soft shadows, play around with tonemapping to check out all the presets

And essentially ... If you don't accept what C&C you are getting, and instead just keep doing the same lame things forever you'll never improve :S

Minecraft my ass. These are pure voxels from Qubicle Constructor.

I see that it's overcontrasted now. My old monitor had really bad colours so it looked alright on my side.

Also, I did this just for fun, I'm not pursuing this as a career or anything but a very occasional hobby at the moment. That's why I got a little upset when mlody47 went on to write a whole critic essay about me importing a model and playing with the camera setup. I mean, come on...

So you post your "work" and wait 3 weeks, no on replies. You reply to it complaining no on replied, so mlody takes the time out of his day to write out what he can for advice on making it better. And you whine about it?

And then you say you aren't going for a career and weren't looking for advice... so why bother bumping the thread 3 weeks after no one said anything? What was the point of any of this then?

I wish mlody would give my works in progress that kind of attention, the guy is brilliant.
