Bugs/ issues/ suggestions for improvement that I notice with the max plugin. Don't want to start a new thread for each so I'm putting them all in here.
1) When I have a map or just color assigned as the environment? Is there a way to control the power? The power setting that is there does not have any effect?
2) When assign materials I often have to set a value or color? Can we add a simple map to facilitate assigning this to multiple material parameters, so they can all be controlled via one. Very useful for multi materials.
3) When assigning a live DB material, instead of assigning them to a slot, can we have an option 'assign to a new slot', because with dozens of slots in an existing scene I don't know which specific slot specifically is available. Or is there an easy way to do this??
A few minor issues with the Max plugin

1) You can use Octane Environment Texture for that.petermax wrote:Bugs/ issues/ suggestions for improvement that I notice with the max plugin. Don't want to start a new thread for each so I'm putting them all in here.

2) I will add this in next release.
3) I will think about it.

3) drag and drop
quad Titan Kepler 6GB + quad Titan X Pascal 12GB + quad GTX1080 8GB + dual GTX1080Ti 11GB
I'm referring to the live db ... i don't think drag and drop works there?Karba wrote:yes, however I can't change the power, is that right?petermax wrote:Bugs/ issues/ suggestions for improvement that I notice with the max plugin. I have another question:
4) vray mesh lights, is there a way I can convert them to octane lights automatically? it's a pain setting up and positioning 20 mesh lights again

1) You can change power inside octane inveronment texture.
3) it is possible
4) that is not easy to get geometry from this light. I have to think about it.
re 1) ok I found it, thanks
re 3) yes, but you need to assign it to a slot first right? I'm talking about assigning to a new empty slot or drag and drop on a slot would be even easier... or make it a max library
re 4) would be nice, it's not a major deal, it's easy enough to re-create the lights
