Helo,
I made a simple urban model in Sketchup7, and when I open it in this release of Octane, i don't have any top of boxes (and roads, paths, colors and almost any things on a surface).
And what is the most annoying, in the last release which i had (it was 2.45 I think) it looks better - it didn't show roads, but all boxes were ok.
What's the problem with this release?
OS Windows 7 x64 l Sketchup Pro version 7.0.8657
AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE l GPU GeFroce GTX 285 1GB l 4 GB RAM
DRIVERS: nVidia 260.99 l CUDA 3.02

Rendering very big perfectly horizontal or vertical axis-aligned surfaces doesn't work correctly in Octane. In 2.55 we changed to a faster geometry intersection method, which has slightly less precision. This has somewhat exacerbated the problem.

You can work around this problem by importing the geometry on a smaller scale.

The max depth setting may be too low, try if the glass is rendered less dark if you increase it.

HI, Thanks a lot for your works
Can you add some flexabilities to the interface ? I would like to move all tool panels to the second monitor.
Is it possible to add this abilities for dock - undock function ?
Thank you

+1 Yes it could be great to split the main rendering window on my second monitor ! until that i must resize on both screen but they aren't size identical (4/3 and 16/9) so i lose some usefull space

Can you describe in a bit more detail? Like what happens if you try to start Octane? And what NVIDIA driver and CUDA toolkit do you have installed?

Hi fabiodamico, you need a nvidia cuda driver 295.20 or newer.
This should be possible with the software management in ubuntu.
And the cuda toolkit from nvidia, you have to install by yourself with

Code: Select all

sudo sh cudatoolkit_4.0.17_linux_64_xxx.run
http://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-toolkit-40

Cheers, mib.
