compare, quadro 6000 has 448 cuda cores, and 6 gb ram, costs as much as four gtx 580, 580 gtx has 512 cores and 3 gb ram max

so quadro 6000 is actually slower than a single 580gtx the main difference is in the memory (and faster viewport inside 3d apps) - optimize the scene to go under 3 gb and buy 4 gtx580..
Or wait for a month or a year until the 680 690 series starts to perform like we expect them to (1500 cores for 680?)

Thank you "acc24ex". I hope 6xx series would be stable soon.

One more thing, from (http://www.nvidia.com/object/graphics_c ... y_now.html) GTX580/ 1.5gb has 512 cores. How many cores for GTX580/ 3gb?
If I used 4 GPU's GTX580/1.5gb, the total cores would be 2048. (Pls correct me if i wrong).
And how many cores for 4 GPU's GTX580/3gb.

Thanks.

Core count is the same, the only thing that differs is the amount o vRam.. and ofcourse the price! =) some companies like evga have a bit tuned models that run with some higher speeds, but that is not recomended for rendering, cos they generate more heat, unless you have a watercooling soluion..otherwise you might run into overheating that might cause stability issues.
